my view on true purpose vs money and other tools with their consequences if unchecked
The confusion between the tools of life and the purpose of life.
Love is beautiful. So is being seen, having money, or acquiring something that others admire. These are things most of us naturally desire and rightfully so. They bring comfort, connection, even moments of joy. But what if the problem isn’t the things themselves but what we believe they mean?
What if beneath the surface of our desires we’re chasing these things not as part of growth, but as replacements for it?
Most people are unaware of what they’re truly doing. They crave being loved, getting rich, gaining attention, but for what? That lack of inner clarity becomes the source of much suffering. And eventually, they’re left with two outcomes: disappointment and regret, or the embrace of ignorance as comfort.
See, money, love, validation= these are not evil. But they were never meant to be the purpose of life. They are, at best, byproducts of something deeper: genuine growth, alignment, and inner expansion. When we chase them as ends in themselves, we don’t just lose our potential, we slowly suffocate the soul. The danger isn’t in wanting love or money. It’s in never asking, “What is it for?” When our perception narrows to chasing outcomes, rather than expanding in growth, even good things lose their meaning. We stop evolving. We repeat. We shrink.
And over time, we suffer, not because we chose something evil, but because we stopped choosing from awareness.
The tragedy is that these pursuits don’t look harmful. They are familiar, even celebrated. But their danger lies in that very familiarity, they don’t look like cages, yet they are. These desires can become tight loops that don’t allow for real growth, depth, or progression. What many call “success” is often just a more decorated prison.
The truth is, money should flow from meaningful progress. Love should arise from presence and understanding. Attention should come as a result of inner light, not the hunger to be seen. These things are not the path, but signs we are walking it well.
